Southern Company Gas

Paul Shlanta is senior vice president, general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer for Southern Company Gas. In this role, he is responsible for managing the company's legal affairs as well as compliance, ethics and claims matters. He also provides leadership to the corporate security, corporate secretary and chief risk officer organizations. He is a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council.

Prior to joining Southern Company Gas, Shlanta served as a partner with Rowe, Foltz & Martin, P.C. and worked at Long Aldridge & Norman.

Shlanta is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. For the State Bar of Georgia, he serves on the executive committee for the Corporate Counsel Law Section. He has chaired the legal committee for the American Gas Association and the Board of Governors for The Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Shlanta received his bachelor's degree in political economy from Williams College and his juris doctor degree from Emory University School of Law.

A native of Pleasantville, N.Y., Shlanta resides in Atlanta with his family.
