We want to be judged not only by the service we provide, but also for what we do to enrich the lives in the communities we serve.
We have been a catalyst for positive change in our communities for more than 160 years. That’s why we continue to give back with our time, talent and resources.
Virginia Natural Gas was the recipient of the Southern Gas Association’s 2018 Community Service Award for its Longleaf Pine Restoration Project. The annual award recognizes the most effective service or outreach program that improves the communities in which its natural gas industry members operate.
Southern Company Gas and its subsidiaries actively participate in community initiatives and events that foster a healthy environment, promote education with a focus on STEM and provide warmth and comfort to those most in need.
To make the most meaningful impact in our communities, we focus our support on these areas of giving:
Energy conservation projects and emergency energy assistance programs that aid low-income senior citizens and households who need managing their natural gas energy consumption.
Programs that promote leadership by women and minorities; arts and culture; and business leadership and/or economic development.
Public secondary schools (K-12); public and private colleges; and universities, with an emphasis in literacy, math and science.
Projects that promote clean air, conservation and green space.
