David Poroch is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Southern Company Gas. In this role, he directs finance, accounting, business planning and risk management functions for all the company’s distribution, wholesale and retail businesses. He also is a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council. Southern Company Gas is a subsidiary of Southern Company.
Before assuming this role, Poroch was executive vice president, CFO and treasurer of Georgia Power. In that capacity, he oversaw the Southern Company subsidiary’s accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting and treasury. Poroch began his career with the Southern Company enterprise in 2012 as vice president and chief audit executive for Southern Company Services.
Previously, Poroch was a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he gained nearly two decades of experience in the utility sector.
Poroch earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. A certified public accountant, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed in Georgia, Michigan and Florida. David also serves on the boards of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Georgia Council on Economic Education and the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.
Poroch and his wife, Jennifer, live in Dunwoody, Georgia. They have two children.
