David E. Slovensky is senior vice president, general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer for Southern Company Gas. In this role, he provides leadership for the company’s legal affairs, corporate security, and corporate secretary functions as well as its compliance and ethics program. Slovensky is a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council.
Before assuming his current role, Slovensky served as vice president and associate general counsel for the company. In that role, he was responsible for the legal support to the company’s distribution operations, and he created and lead its information security and records management functions. Slovensky also served for two years as Vice President in the Southern Company Services legal function. Slovensky joined Southern Company Gas in 2004 as chief litigation counsel after nine years in private practice.
Slovensky is a member of the Legal Committee for the American Gas Association, the Association of Distinguished Legal Executives, and the Chief Litigation Counsel Association. Slovensky also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School.
Slovensky earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from the University of South Carolina. He also earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
Slovensky and his wife live in Atlanta with their three children.
